It was completely like a fashion celebrity and not really like a singer or actor," said fashion photographer, Daboo Ratnani.

The singer who also unsuccessfully tried his hand at acting, has an axe to grind with Bollywood's star struck culture."India has just two religions, Cricket and Bollywood. But I'd like to say that music is bigger than actors and actresses," said Nigam."So the film industry belongs to the actors and actresses, it does not belong to the singers or musicians or the music directors and all. So it's very rare that people from other fraternities get so much mileage," added Nigam.But now Sonu is completely focusing on his playback singing and will be heard in quite a few forthcoming releases."I've sung some songs for 3 Idiots, that's Vidhu Vinod Chopra's and Raju Hirani's movie which stars Aamir. I've sung for Yuvrajwhich stars Salman. And I've sung a lot of songs for Sajid Wajid lately.
